How far away do beekeepers have to keep hives from a house?

I’m interested in beekeeping and I’ve found some great websites and a list of books, but if I can’t keep bees at the back of my yard it’ll change the kind of information I want to find.

    Not very far maybe 50 feet my grandpa used to keep them but are your neighbors afraid of Bee you may want to check and the case of the clasping hives where they disappear die after sting .
